Chester County, June 6, 1781.
  Whereas Jane, my wife, 
  Without quarrel of strife, 
  Hath elop'd from my bed and boarding:
  This caution I give, 
  It's as true as I live, 
  For her I will not pay one farthing, 
  Or debts she may make, 
  After this date, 
  In my policy I hope there's no evil;
  Now I have set forth the same, 
  I here sign my name, 
  Which is Marmaduke Hivel.
